THE MARTHA OLSON-FERNANDEZ FOUNDATION X THE ALSA GOLDEN WEST CHAPTER
The Martha Olson-Fernandez Foundation is proud to announce our mission to assist those with limited financial resources fighting amyotrophic lateral sclerosis on the Central Coast of California. Our recent collaboration with the ALS Association Golden West Chapter ensures the foundation’s funds go specifically to ALS patients in need of transportation and funding for treatment clinics, medical supplies, alimentation, durable medical equipment, or augmentative alternative communication devices (AAC). The foundation has provided the ALS Association with two initial payments of $10,000 to be used by Julie Scurich and Faye Sloan, who are the current case managers in charge of the ALS patients and their families on the central coast. It is our hope that with these monies the ALS associates will appropriate the funds where they are most needed.

Thank you very much to Fred Fisher and Cherryl Goldstein of the Golden West Chapter for making this collaboration possible.
The Martha Olson-Fernandez Foundation and The ALS Association strongly encourage those living with ALS to please register with the ALS registry by clicking the headline above. The registry, run by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), serves as a database for demographic information about ALS patients. If you have ever wondered how many ALS patients live near you or what ethnic group is more predisposed to the disease this is a helpful tool to compile more information on the disease.
